I have always loved animals and have been very fortunate to have shared my life with many wonderful dogs, parrots, fish, turtles and yes even a very special duck. My first dog was a beautiful Labrador retriever named Sasha. However, unknown to me at the time she came from a puppy mill and had the worst hip dysplasia that the vet had ever seen. I learnt a lot through her about the importance of proper breeding and the importance of health checks. Even with her issues she was an active Therapy Dog and visited at a Seniors home for 11 years, only pausing for a short while when she had hip replacement surgery.
After her passing I vowed to do better breeder research and find another Labrador that was totally sound in mind and body- enter my second Labrador Noah my first pure bred, registered dog. On a whim we decided to enter Noah in a conformation show, and from there was born my love for showing.
As luck would have it, our handling teacher happened to be an Australian Shepherd breeder and from there I was introduced to this marvellous, versatile breed. When I saw my beautiful Sinead as a little puppy I absolutely fell in love with her and so she joined our family.
Sinead was everything and more that I could have wanted in a dog - She is not only a pretty faced and excelled in the show ring, but also rose to every challenge I put in front of her - swimming, herding, obedience, rally, retrieving, disc and most recently tracking. She truly embodies the word versatile - sound in mind and body.
I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my dogs. We are actively competing in Conformation, Rally, Obedience, Disc dog, and tracking events held by the CKC, AKC, ASCA, UKC and IABCA. At all these events, my dogs are exclusively owner-handled and I am very proud of all our successes for far.
All are dogs have been naturally raised on a raw based diet and are minimally vaccinated though regularly titred.
Litters are only bred on a very limited basis after a lot of careful thought and planning. All the puppies are reared at home and are provided with every opportunity and proper nutrition to enable them to grow and thrive.
